Mouth rinse (aka mouthwash, oral rinse, mouth bath) is a liquid held in the mouth passively or swilled around the mouth

Ingredients
  • Saline (warm salty water)
  • Essential oils (e.g. eucalyptol, menthol, thymol, methyl salicylate), as in Listerine mouthwash
  • CPC (cetyl pyridinium chloride), as in Colgate Plax, Crest Pro Health, Oral B Pro Health Rinse
  • Chlorhexidine digluconate (e.g. Savacol), is a chemical antiseptic. It has anti-plaque action, and also some anti-fungal action
  • Na hypochlorite
